The Music of God's Heart

“The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save; He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing." – Zephaniah 3:17

Music is so important to dance. Music provides the rhythm and direction for our movements. It supplies the emotion and the effect for the dance. Without music, dance is no longer dance, but just random movement that really has no purpose.

Have you ever wondered what God’s music sounds like? Or considered the fact that God really sings and that He sings with a purpose? God longs to sing for you. He longs to sing to your heart. In fact, the lyrics and melody in His songs are life changing and transforming. The only problem is we struggle to hear Him. We often have ear plugs stuck in our ears that limit our ability to hear the true message God’s music would give us if we would only listen.

God’s music moves us in a way that nothing else can. We suddenly have purpose, meaning, and interpretation for the dance we do. The scripture in Zephaniah carries beautiful musical lyrics from God that carry deep power and purpose for our daily life.

The Lord your God is with you = Jesus will never abandon you nor turn away from you – no matter what! You didn’t earn His love; He gave it to you because He chose you.

He is mighty to save = There is nothing that God can’t deliver or heal you from. Nothing. If you are struggling in a specific area, that’s okay. Bring it to God. He will save you from it and give you a new song to replace the old nerve-splitting sounds.

He will take great delight in you = Let that sink in. God delights in you. He doesn’t just love you, He’s proud of you and if God had a fridge, your picture would be on it.

He will rejoice over you with singing = As you gain victories thru Jesus and learn the footwork that follows after God’s music, He rejoices over them with songs of praise. Each step you take is under God’s watchful eye and He desires to see you restored to Him. He’s so happy about it that He can’t help but burst out in singing.

Don’t you think it’s time to listen to God’s music? Take those ear plugs out. Grab your bible and find a quiet place. You will begin to hear the sweetest sound you’ve ever heard.
